Amphon withdraws appeal and will seek royal pardon

Amphon Tangnoppakul, who has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for lèse majesté, has decided to withdraw his appeal on the case, and will seek a royal pardon, said his lawyer Anon Nampha on 2 April, citing his old age and health problems as the reason.

The lawyer will ask the court to withdraw the appeal on his client’s behalf today.

According to the lawyer, Thanthawut Thaweewarodomkul, another lèse majesté convict sentenced to 13 years’ imprisonment for allegedly being the administrator of the NorPorChor USA website, also wishes to withdraw his appeal in order to seek a royal pardon.  However, Thanthawut wants to know the outcome of his request for bail first, which the lawyer has already submitted to the Supreme Court for over a month now.

Did not many see this coming?

Did not many see this coming? They want him to crawl, beg, be belittled, suffer and eventually declare his sincere Thainess, etc. What a society!

That makes 9 people waiting

That makes 9 people waiting on you, Prime Minister Yingluck:

  1. Ampol Tangnopakul - 20 years in prison,
  2. Daranee Charnchoengsilpakul - 15 years,
  3. Wanchai Saetan - 15 years,
  4. Surachai Danwatthananusorn - 7.5 years,
  5. Nat Sattayapornpisut - 4.5 years,
  6. Suriyan Kokpuey - 3 years and 15 days,
  7. Warawut Thanangkorn (or Suchart Nakbangsai) - 3 years,
  8. Sathian Rattanawong - 3 years, and
  9. Joe Gordon - 2.5 years.

Your silence is deafening.

I know its very comfortable where you are, and that you're young yet and have a long and luxurious life ahead of you.

But you owe your present position, and your brother owes your present position, to the people whose backs you rode into office on.

Your smile seems more and more the self-satisfied smile of one who's used others, successfully, for her own ends. Oh the cat who ate the canary.

If for no other reason than your own self-interest you need to take up these cases and right away.

Sino-Thais love the number '9', don't they? Spend the big baht to put them on their license plates?

Here's a singular Number 9 that you cannot afford to be without, Lady Luck.

This badly disrupts Pavin

This badly disrupts Pavin Chachavalpongpun's next photo-shoot.

He had his toy-dog, his latest pair of skinny Evisu jeans, his stylist and his brand new "Free Ar Kong" t-shirt all ready.

Amphon and his family should've consulted him first and Pavin is now very upset.

I guess you don't like Pavin.

I guess you don't like Pavin. Rather, don't like the 'media personality' you have constructed to stand behind your use of Pavin's name. Or are attempting to construct.

I cannot say for sure that I know, or can admit, my own motives for saying or doing things at times, so I won't speculate as to yours or to Pavin's, but I do think that the bestial travesty committed against Amphon by the Royal Thai Kourt System was held before the public eye for a few media minutes longer than it would have been otherwise, due to Pavin's efforts.

I'd encourage Pavin to undertaken further campaigns in that arena if he sees the opportunity, and can again get media cooperation to do so.

It's not only PM Yingluck
