<p>Five police officers have been demoted because they failed to prevent anti-coup Khon Kaen student activists from humiliating Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha, the head of the junta, during his speech in Khon Kaen last week.</p> <p>According to Matichon, Police Maj Gen Bunlert Jaipradit, chief of Provincial Police Region 4, on Sunday transferred the five police officers from Khon Kaen Police Station to the Region Four Police Operations Centre.</p>

<p>Five Dao Din students reported that they are still being followed and monitored by the military after their release on Thursday.</p> <p>After the release on Thursday of the five Dao Din student activists arrested for making three-fingered salutes in front of Prayut Chan-o-cha in Khon Kaen, the group stated on Facebook on Saturday afternoon that the military are still trying to keep an eye the group’s members and activities.</p>

Prayuth Chan-Ocha, the leader of the junta that seized power in May and later anointed himself prime minister, was beginning a speech in the northeastern province of Khon Kaen when five local university students stood up and stripped down to t-shirts emblazoned with “Don’t Want a Coup” in Thai. </div>

<p>Two cinemas in downtown Bangkok were pressured into withdrawing a popular blockbuster, Hunger Games 3: Mockingjay ,from their schedule after the authorities earlier today arrested five anti-coup protesters in the Northeast.</p> <p>Spokespersons for the cinemas belonging to Apex company at Bangkok's Siam Square shopping district, announced on Wednesday afternoon that the company had decided not to screen Hunger Games 3: Mockingjay Part 1 in any of its cinemas, without clarifying the reasons why the company decided to do this.</p>
