It has been a month since Siam Theerawut went missing along with two other refugees, Chucheep “Uncle Sanam Luang” Chiwasut and Kritsana Tupthai, after it was reported that they had been arrested in Vietnam and extradited to Thailand on 8 May. So far, neither the Thai nor Vietnamese authorities have disclosed information about the three men’s fate.

After reports surfaced on Thursday (9 May) of the disappearance of three activists in exile in Vietnam, both Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International have expressed their concerns over the activists’ safety and called on the Thai government to disclose information about their whereabouts.

The Thai Alliance for Human Rights (TAHR) has issued a statement earlier today (9 May) that three political exiles have been arrested in Vietnam, and have now been handed over to the Thai authorities. Piangdin Rakthai, a TAHR leader in exile calling for the right of his fellow activists to access fair trial.
