On Sunday (25 August), the family of Abdullah Isomuso, who was admitted to hospital after being found unconscious in his cell at Ingkhayutthaborihan Military Camp in Pattani, announced that he had died after 35 days in intensive care.

The Army has been ordered to pay over 1.8 million baht to the mother of a soldier beaten to death in custody. Meanwhile, the trial over the death of another soldier has been postponed as witnesses failed to show up.   On 22 February 2018, the Bangkok Civil Court ruled that the Royal Thai Army must pay 1.87 million baht in compensation to the family of Corporal Kittikorn Suthiraphan.

A post-mortem examination has revealed that a suspect in a land corruption case, previously reported as committing suicide in custody, was actually killed by internal bleeding and suffocation.    On Tuesday, 30 August 2016, Thawatchai Anukul, a 66-year-old retired official of the Department of Lands, was reported to have hanged himself while detained at the Department of Special Investigation (DSI).

Other inmates has reportedly beaten a suspect on a rape case to death.   According to Manager Online News, Wimon Preeprem, 37, a suspect of a rape case who had been detained at Nonthaburi Provincial Prison at Muang District of the province was found dead in prison at around 6:30 am on Tuesday, 5 January 2016.
