The King has promoted Gen Apirat Kongsompong, the Royal Thai Army (RTA) Commander and Pol Col Naras Savestanan, Director-General of the Corrections Department, as Deputy Lord Chamberlains of the Palace after their retirement on 30 September 2020

15 years ago, Chit (alias) used a homemade rifle to shoot his sleeping stepfather in the head. Chit’s stepfather had looked after him since he was 2 years old and loved him like his own son. There were no disagreements between them. Chit shot his stepfather because he wanted to help him. He saw flashing lights near his stepfather’s head and he wanted to chase them away. At that time, he really believed that he should have done what he did.

The wife of Ah Kong, the elderly lèse majesté convict who died of cancer while in custody in 2012, continues to pursue a case against the Department of Corrections of Thailand at the Civil Court over her husband's death.

The authorities on Monday morning transferred most of the red-shirt political prisoners who were arrested after the 2010 political violence in Bangkok from Laksi temporary prison to more crowded permanent prisons where conditions are worse. The Laksi Prison for political prisoners was initiated during the Yingluck Shinawatra government.
