The man read George Orwell’s novel 1984 and played the French national anthem La Marseillaise on his mobile phone at Siam Paragon. The man was later arrested by plain clothes police on Sunday 22 June 2014. Anti-coup rallies on May 24, the third day after the coup, in central Bangkok. Around 11a.m. protesters gathered in front of Major Cineplex Mall on Phahonyothin Road, then around 5 p.m. around 1,000 people protested against the miltary rule at Victory Monument.

At least five activists protesting the coup at the Bangkok Art and Cultural Center were arrested around 7.30 pm on Friday, after a confrontation between the protesters and soldiers. One of the activists arrested was Thanapol Eiwsakul, co-editor of Fah Diew Kan magazine, which is known for its critical articles about Thailand's establishment.
