The Supreme Court has acquitted two former local government politicians and a third relative indicted for murdering an environmental activist opposing a plan to construct a coal-fired power plant. On Tuesday, 13 October 2015, the Supreme Court on Ratchadaphisek Road, Bangkok, dismissed charges against Manoch Hinkaew, a former Provincial Councillor of the central Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, Jua Hinkaew, a former Kamnan (Subdistrict Head) of Bo Nok Subdistrict, Mueang District of the province, and Thanu Hinkaew.

The many and various oversight mechanisms of the new constitution became ever more tangled over the last week with the revelation that the National Anti-Corruption Commission has initiated an investigation into alleged irregularities at the National Ethics Assembly after a petition by members of the Senate. In turn, the Senate announced it would pursue impeachment proceedings against the National Ethics Assembly in response to a report from the National Anti-Corruption Commission looking into unethical behaviour by the ethics watchdog.

This shall include revise and development of the law in corresponds to the word and meaning of the constitution, the machinery of the judicial process, due process of law, law enforcement, adjudicative law, drafting law, that is to revise and development of the law.

In a move that caught observers completely unaware, the National Anti-Corruption Commission has initiated moves to impeach the National Legislative Assembly. Fresh from its victory in impeaching former Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra, the NACC seems intent on purging Thai politics of all forms of corruption. And in their way of thinking, voting constitutes a form of corruption.

Seven years past, yet no progress made, public left at their own devices, culprits are at large On December 22, 2010, the spokesperson of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) announced the decision to determine the alleged offences against Pol.Gen. Bhanupong Singhara Na Ayuthaya and other 18 officials, regarding the abuse of power and violation of the rights of alleged offenders in the gun robbery taking place at the Fourth Development Military Battalion, the Krom Luang Narathiwat Ratchanakarin Military Camp on January 4, 2004, the incidence of which has led to the onslaught of violence and conflicts in Thailand’s Deep South causing widespread damage and loss of lives among government officials and innocent people. Until now, the death toll has climbed over 4,000.
