<p>Khoukham Keomanivong, a UN-recognised Lao political refugee living in Thailand who was arrested last Saturday (29 January), was released on bail but restricted from traveling, Benarnews reported on 2 February.</p>

<p>UN human rights experts&nbsp;have expressed serious concerns about the disappearance of a prominent Lao human rights defender, Od Sayavong, who went missing in Thailand just months after meeting a UN special rapporteur.</p>

<p>Thai authorities must immediately investigate the disappearance of Od Sayavong, a Lao activist seeking asylum, <a href="https://www.fidh.org/en/region/asia/thailand/investigate-disappearance-of-lao-activist-seeking-asylum">FIDH and its member organization Lao Movement for Human Rights (LMHR)</a> urged today.</p>
