On 22 November, 9 activists were found guilty of contempt of court and sentenced to 10 days in jail by the Thanyaburi Provincial Court according to Thai Lawyers for Human Rights (TLHR). 3 of the activists are already in jail pending trial on other charges.

Pro-democracy protester Phromsorn ‘Fah’ Weerathamjaree has been released from Thanyaburi prison after almost 2 months in detention and a hunger strike.  This follows similar releases of other protestors. Phromsorn reunites with friends after being released.

One day ahead of a court ruling on the temporary release of 3 famous pro-democracy protesters detained on royal defamation charges, the Human Rights Lawyers Association (HRLA) has urged the Office of the Judicial Commission to look into 3 questionable points which may involve the courts in political conflict.

Four people currently facing royal defamation charges and detained pending trial have been granted bail: activists Jatupat Boonpattararaksa and Somyot Prueksakasemsuk, and two other people who were previously detained at prisons in Chiang Mai.
