<p>The Emergency Operations Command’s order to block PTV has affected over 10 other customers of the Thaicom satellite. PM’s Office Minister Sathit Wongnongtoey says the Thaicom company has to take responsibility for compensation.</p>

<p>In response to long-standing land problems in the country, the government has just passed a resolution to allow communities to farm state land for a period of 30 years. A mechanism will be created to issue ‘community title deeds’, and oversee the practice of the farming communities. However, farmers who have long struggled over land rights issues are sceptical of this government measure, as opposed to their own version of community title deeds. </p>
<p>On 5 Oct, PM’s Office Minister Sathit Wongnongtoey denied as untrue criticism by the Pheua Thai Party and some newspapers that his ‘Thais United, Thais Strong Project’ had squandered Bt60 million of public money.</p>
<p>The government will encourage the Thai people in all provinces to come out to sing the National Anthem at 6 pm every day until 5 Dec to promote unity and patriotism. The events will be broadcast live from each province, starting with Krabi.</p>
<p>Thai media, freedom of speech, and freedom to information are under threat in Thailand by a government that is robbing the people of their rights and freedoms. </p>
