Princess Bajrakitiyabha’s condition remains stable, says the Palace

The Bureau of the Royal Household issued a second statement today (19 December) on the condition of Princess Bajrakitiyabha, stating that she is still stable and that her heart, lungs, and kidneys are being treated with medication.

The palace also said that the Princessheartbeat is being regulated with medication and that a coronary angiogram found no abnormality.

The statement came after it was announced last Thursday (15 December) that the Princess had been hospitalised after she collapsed from a heart-related condition while training dogs for the Royal Thai Army’s 2022 Thailand Working Dog Championships.

Princess Bajrakitiyabha is the oldest of King Vajiralongkorns 7 children and the only child born to his first wife, Princess Soamsawali. Although the King has not appointed an heir, Princess Bajrakitiyabha has been viewed by many as a likely successor to the throne due to her public standing and family background.

Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital has set up a venue for members of the public to send get-well messages to the Princess. Religious leaders and local authorities have also called for people to pray for the Princesscondition to improve.

Courts asked to refrain from year-end party

On 19 December, a letter was published from the Court of Justice's Office of Central Administration. The office invites offices under the Court of Justice to take part in prayer ceremonies or organise other charity events such as blood donation or giving alms. All expenses regarding this letter cannot be reimbursed from the state budget.

The letter also stated that the offices should refrain from organising year-end or new year parties.
