The younger sister of Italian photojournalist Fabio Polenghi, who was killed during the government crackdown on red shirts in May last year, continues her search for a man appearing in photographs of her brother’s last moment and believed to have taken his camera, in the hope that images stored in the camera might solve the mystery of his death.

Elisabetta Polenghi, has opened a Facebook page ‘Who is this man?’ to look for the man who apparently took Fabio’s camera after her brother had been shot. (See details at http://www.fabiopolenghi.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=76%3Awho-is-this-man&catid=2%3Anews&Itemid=2)

She believes that the man can give information about what happened on 19 May 2010 when her brother was killed.

She and her family want to contact the man to ask for information or at least images stored in Fabio’s memory cards.

‘We think that finding this man is necessary for the investigation on the case and we are convinced that this man is the only one who could give us information about what really happened the day 19th on May 2010 in Bangkok. Hopefully someone reading this may lead us to have a contact with him. We don't want to know his identity if he does not want to show out, at least could let us have back, by send them anonymity to us, images contained in the camera memory card, which for us would mean very much,’ she said.

Anyone who knows the man can contact her through https://www.facebook.com/pages/Who-is-this-man/240714019314299 or email ([email protected]) without identifying yourself.

She stated on the Facebook page that the man in the photographs was not Masayuki Zaito, photographer for NEWSCLIP agency, as was suggested by a reader.
