A hail of live bullets hit the house, killing on the spot three of his children, 6-year-old Ilyas Maman, 9-year-old Bahari Maman and 11-year-old Muhayek Maman. Their mother, Padeela Maeyu, also a religious teacher, was shot in the shoulder.
Wartani Citizen Journalist, based in Pattani province, interviews the family over the tragedy that took place in Belukar Perak village, Bacho District, Narathiwat Province.
The ethnic and religious conflict in the southernmost provinces has already claimed over 5,700 lives since 2004, with more than 10,200 people injured.
