Thai King's chief adviser praises 2014 Coup

Khaosod English The top adviser to His Majesty the King has praised the 2014 military coup as a necessary action that saved Thailand from chaos.

Gen Prem Tinsulanonda, the 94-year-old chairman of the Privy Council, also lauded coupmaker and Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha for his decision to seized power from the elected government on 22 May 2014.
Gen Prayuth was paying a visit to Gen. Prem at his official residence in Bangkok this morning and wishing him well for the new year when the Privy Councilor delivered the comments.
