Love Wins

The Civil and Commercial Code states that "a marriage can take place only when the man and woman have completed their seventeenth year of age."

By limiting the definition of marriage to a union between a man and a woman, the Thai legal system has taken away the right of LGBT couples to be legally recognized, and has limited their right to found a family.

In a new short documentary "Love Wins," Prachatai and 1448 For All tell the story of LGBT families and the road towards marriage equality.

Since 2007, Prachatai English has been covering underreported issues in Thailand, especially about democratization and human rights, despite the risk and pressure from the law and the authorities. However, with only 2 full-time reporters and increasing annual operating costs, keeping our work going is a challenge. Your support will ensure we stay a professional media source and be able to expand our team to meet the challenges and deliver timely and in-depth reporting.
