<p>Thai police are investigating a university lecturer for allegedly insulting the monarchy through examination questions he set on Thai civilisation.</p>

<p>(Hong Kong, July 23, 2007) An online petition has been launched in support of a Thai lecturer who has been accused of insulting the monarchy through the questions asked in a university examination paper.</p>

<p>Silpakorn University philosophy lecturer Asst. Prof. Boonsong Chaisinghanon has told Prachatai that he has refused to hand over examination papers and score details from his Thai Civilization courses.</p>

<p>A Thai Civilization lecturer is being threatened with a l&egrave;se majest&eacute; charge as the police believe the questions he asked students in their examination are slanderous to the monarchy.</p>
